Rachel started her legal career in private practice as a legal secretary for a local Shropshire law firm gaining experience in various areas of law including criminal, child care, family, private client and property.
After realising she had found her career path, she studied for her law degree and later the legal practice course. Her aim is to qualify as a solicitor in the not too distant future.
In between having her two children, Rachel continued to work in the legal sector working primarily in the Private Client and Property departments (both residential and commercial) gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge.
In 2019 she was delighted to secure a role as a Legacy Officer with CRUK and later moved on to be part of the Legacy team with BHF in 2021.
During her time in the legacy sector so far, Rachel has presented at the ILM conference and created a peer to peer networking group for legacy professionals from all charities. The group specifically focuses on spreading awareness and sector knowledge to those in smaller charities who are perhaps the sole person dealing with legacies, fundraising, marketing and finance.
Her aim is to build long lasting relationships with her peers and share her knowledge, creating a harmonious and smooth working relationship for all involved in the legacy journey.
Rachel is keen to work with more charities, helping them with their policies and procedures, adding value and navigating contentious and complex matters as well as the day to day administration and all the variety it brings.
