We are recruiting for an exceptional sector leader to head up Legacy Link, our specialist legacy management team and the largest of its kind in the UK.

We're looking for a Head of Legacy Management to lead the next phase of growth and development for Legacy Link – shaping a high-performing, client-focused operation that delivers outstanding service to the charities we're proud to work with.

This role sits at the heart of our Legacy Link team, which supports more than 150 charities every month through outsourced legacy administration, interim resource support and specialist consultancy – helping secure over £200m of legacy income each year.

The role

Job Title: Head of Legacy Management

Hours: Full time, working flexibly 5 days a week

Location: Flexible, with travel as required. You must be UK based for this position.

Salary: £75-80k FTE

Start Date: From 1st July 2026 (to be discussed and agreed at interview)

Role purpose

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic development, operational performance and commercial growth of Legacy Link. Leading a team of more than 50 consultants and managers, you will combine deep sector expertise with strong leadership capability – bringing the credibility to influence externally alongside the operational focus needed to lead transformational change internally.

The role spans four core areas:

  • Leadership and people development across a team of employed and external consultants
  • Operational delivery and continuous improvement of legacy management services
  • Commercial performance, including budgeting, revenue and margin responsibility
  • Client and sector engagement, including pitches, presentations and thought leadership

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is at the top of their game in legacy management – a recognised sector leader with the technical expertise, leadership experience and commercial mindset to take Legacy Link forward.

You will be as comfortable presenting to senior charity stakeholders as you are developing your team and driving operational improvement. A commitment to donor care, client excellence and being a trusted partner to the sector is essential.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in legacy management within the charity sector
  • A relevant qualification in legacy management (ILM CiCLA, Diploma, STEP or equivalent)
  • Proven track record of building, leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience leading teams through organisational or operational change
  • Strong commercial awareness and client-centric mindset
  • Exceptional working knowledge of FC4 and other relevant CRM systems (TQ, RE, Care)
  • Methodical and persistent, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment

Experience contributing to business development, consultancy projects or sector thought leadership would be a bonus. Already being recognised as a leader in the charity sector is a distinct advantage.
