Problem

Legacy Link were first approached by Charlie Booth at The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in October 2016. Charlie had recently taken on the position of Legacy Manager and was considering what strategies needed to be implemented to get the department working well.

Solution

After discussions about how Legacy Link could support The Royal Marsden, our legacy consultant, Freya Ellingham, took on a caseload of difficult cases along with a variety of residuary, new and reversionary matters. Freya is currently handling over 50 cases for the charity.

Freya was able to advise The Royal Marsden about how to improve the use of their software system through suggesting helpful keywords and contact categories.

Additionally, Freya was recently asked to be involved in supporting The Royal Marsden in the recruitment of a Legacy Officer; taking part in the interview panel and providing input into the appointment process.

We are pleased to have been able to support The Royal Marsden through this transitional time by successfully resolving complex cases, improving the charity’s use of FirstClass, and freeing up the Legacy Manager allowing her more opportunities to focus on the wider strategic management of her department.

Working with Freya and Legacy Link has been invaluable to allow me to spend time to focus on the broader strategic direction for the team and the charity. Freya has supported us through case management and FirstClass support, but also as a sense check on difficult or complex issues. Freya easily understood the culture of our charity and combined with her professional expertise, she was a great choice to support on our recent Legacy Officer interviews. Charlie Booth, Legacy Manager
